Steven Erikson – Dust of Dreams Update!

Just saw this on Pat’s blog and thought I’d post it here, too – after all, this is the Malazan Book of the Fallen we’re talking about! ๐Ÿ™‚

Most of the manuscript has been handed in, except for some of the final chapters – why? Well, Mr Erikson is busy with some “massive battle scenes”! ๐Ÿ™‚

Awesome news! Now I’ve just gotta get myself in gear and finish my second read-through of the series! ๐Ÿ™‚

As always, I’ll update you as more news breaks. ๐Ÿ™‚

Be Fantastic!

P.S. Look out for Toll the Hounds, hitting the shelves in paperback soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

Potentially Very Exciting!

Other than the interview that Mark did with me (still one of the most kickass events that have sprung from this blog!), I may be able to report (soon) on something pretty damn cool; let’s just say that Del Rey’s marketing department will be in contact with me at some time (I was told these things can take some time, so no worries there)… ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, next week I’m going to get stuck into polishing up my half of the audio recording of a ten-minute excerpt of Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen opener, Gardens of the Moon, so I’ll have that for you guys very soon. ๐Ÿ™‚ The guys at Random House here in SA, as well as some of the members at malazanempire.com are waiting for this, so that’s my priority for next week. ๐Ÿ™‚ Got a wedding to go to this weekend, and I work during the week, so bare with me, k? ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yรจ, my RSS feed is up and running! FINALLY! Hehe, told you I was a newbie at this. ๐Ÿ™‚

Alrighty then, that’s it for the time being! ๐Ÿ™‚

Be Fantastic!

Update: Malazan Fan-Made Audio Book

Hey Guys and Girls, I’ve got some good (though not kickass) news for those who have been following this topic:

I’ve received confirmation and permission from Random House that I can go ahead with the audio recording, but the snag is that it cannot, legally, be longer than 10 minutes. This info came through Random House SA (now known as Random Struik) from Transworld in the UK – fans of Erikson’s work will know that Transworld is his publisher. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve contacted my buddy, Remy, in France, and he’s still keen to do it, so we may end up doing a back-to-back recording of 5 minutes each. When we’re done, we’ll be posting the recording on each of our blogs / sites, and also at malazanempire.com ‘s forums, but I’ll let you all know when it goes up there. ๐Ÿ™‚ All you’ll find now is a discussion that’s been closed off, so don’t waste your time looking. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope that this will at least generate interest in getting proper audio books of the Malazan Book of the Fallen made, that would be awesome! So, even if the recordings don’t turn out as great as you hope, please remember that myself or Remy don’t have recording studios or amazing equipment, we’ll do the best we can with what we have. ๐Ÿ™‚

Be Fantastic!

The Malazan Fan-Made Audio Book is Coming!

Just had to share this with you! I got a reply from someone interested in getting the fan-made audio books of the Malazan Books of the Fallen by Steven Erikson done! ๐Ÿ™‚ Honestly, I never thought I would hear from anyone, but I love being surprised. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll keep you updated, of course, on the goings on – we need to plan, decide, share, etc before anything concrete starts happening, but everything looks good. ๐Ÿ™‚ For those of you who missed my first post on this, check out the post here. More updates as they come! ๐Ÿ™‚

A Malazan Book of the Fallen Fan-Made Audio Book

I thought I would throw this out there since I saw it on the forums at http://www.malazanempire.com/IPBforum/ย (Malazan Empire Forums) and thought, You know what? Why not? Could work. So, if anyone out there is interested in doing something like this, let me know. Perhaps we can get something going where we discuss how many people we can use, who’ll read who, that kind of thing. ๐Ÿ™‚ So, if you’re interested (guys and girls) check out my About Me page and drop me an email. ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to hearing from you all! ๐Ÿ™‚

And just to make this clear, this won’t be for money; fan-made, for the fans. ๐Ÿ™‚
