Tag Archives: Empire in Black and Gold

Man it’s great to have a lot to blog about! 🙂

First off, some news on review requests that I’ve received: Fantasy Author Bruce Skye emailed me and asked me to read and review his novel Grayrider, and he’s been good enough to send me the eBook; Jill Susan of V.P. Marketing has emailed me and asked me to read and review Bernd Struben’s Science Fiction novel, 40 Years – she’s posting the book to me; Tracy Falbe, also a Fantasy Author, got in touch and asked me to read the short story posted on her website, and since it’s a short, I’ve already started reading it and will post my review soon; and I’v also received an eBook of Michael J Sullivan’s The Crown Conspiracy by his wife-editor Robin – this I had to investigate after seeing the review of the book at Fantasy Book Critic. 🙂

At the moment I’m still busy with Empire in Black and Gold and quite enjoying it. 🙂

Also newsworthy, my review of Twelve was sent by Jasper Kent to his agent, John Jarrold; I literally fell off my chair when I got an email from John (with lots of great info), and that info will form the basis of a post will which be up in the next few days. 🙂

Okay, to writing: after a few emails with Liz (she was busy plugging away at her own book for Nanowrimo), she gave me some encouragement, and consequently, I’ve been plugging away at my own writing – I started on Friday evening with a fresh idea that added something awesome to what I had already been writing, and hit paydirt: I’m now sitting at just over 6500 words, and my goal for today is to clock 8000. 🙂 So, indulge me when I update every week on the wordcount, k? 🙂

Be Fantastic!

More Wheel of Time News and Some Updates. :-)

Okay, I know it’s been a quiet few days. 🙂 I’m busy reading Empire in Black and Gold, as well as Twelve (Jasper Kent), and enjoying both books at the moment, but until I’ve finished with them, there won’t be any reviews. 🙂 Stands to reason, that; felt like a complete boob for stating the obvious, but hey. 🙂

Anyway, on the Wheel of Time front, there has been a response from Red Eagle Entertainment regarding the very vociferous fan-response to their live-action movie and games announcement; here is the link to the post dealing with their responses – I know I’m following this like a hawk, and I’m sure many of you are, too. 🙂

I’m still waiting for two interviews to come back (I’m beeing patient; I would rather have them writing, anyway. 🙂 ), and also still waiting for news from Penguin Books, Random House, and the Harper Collins distributors here in SA, Jonathan Ball. 🙂 So far, it’s been quiet, I’ll tell you that much! 🙂

I saw the trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek this morning, the latest trailer, and my jaw was hanging open for the duration of it – it looks INCREDIBLE!! I cannot, repeat, cannot wait to see this movie! 🙂 I saw it at Club Jade, so that’s where the link will take you, but if you want a site that gets most of the latest trailers as they are released, check this out: The trailers can be downloaded in MP4 or 3GP format, and don’t pay too much attention to the plot analysis – sometimes it’s really dumb. 🙂 As far as I know, it’s not ilegal or anything, and I utilize it quite often – today, for example, I got the trailers for 2012, Star Trek, and Crossing Over (new H. Ford flick), so check back for regular updates. 🙂

Okay, I guess that’s about it. 🙂

Oh, and I’m working on a way to get my RSS feed up for you guys – I’m a complete newbie at this blogging thing (yes, still am), not to mention how WordPress works with its widgits and thingies, but as soon as I’ve got it up, you’ll see it! 🙂
