I agree! I just finished the Mistborn trilogy and I am halfway through Elantris. I decided to read them to see how well Brandon writes. It was a pleasant surprise, one of the best series I've read in quite a while. I am now confident the the WOT is in good hands. :)

As many plot lines as there are (eight at the very least), I'm not surprised that it will take more than just one book to finish everything. Plus bringing Moiraine back will take a good portion as well (because no matter what, I still believe that she is NOT dead and Thom is the key to bringing her back!) - but then again, that's my theory. I could also see Bela taking down Asmodean ^_^

I'm really glad that I grabbed Elantris when I heard that Brandon Sanderson would be taking over. I was worried about how it could go badly since from my experience other authors picking up where another left off just aren't worth reading, but after getting a taste of Sanderson's work, I've only been looking forward to the series finishing up and have given other WOT fans advice to read Sanderson as well. Keep up the good work! Now that I have read a little bit of your background, maybe it's not so far fetched for me to one day write my own fantasy books. I have a long way to go for that to ever happen - including getting the characters out of my head and onto paper - but I feel more confident.

Go to Mr. Sanderson's website and read his thoughts about it. I don't think it's about the money, as much as it is about acutally finishing all the plot lines in a proper manner.

From wot.wikia.com:
"Narg is one of the Trollocs who attack the al'Thor farm in EotW chapter 5. He hides in Rand and Tam's house pretending to be dead, waiting for someone to return. He attacks Rand and is impaled on Tam's sword."

That's the correct Bela you found. Consider your leg properly pulled (It's a joke by Brandon)

It's cool hat he is writing the books to "finish the series" but IMO - Harriet as well as TOR should have made better arrangements for a writing schedule. This guy is writing multiple books at once, doing book tours and whatnot while dangling a WOT book at those of us that want closure.
Tor knew it would be a huge undertaking and 3 books draws in more cash than one.
It gives me cause to wonder if they were the reason the series has stretched out for over 20 years - they had a goose that laid golden eggs for a while.

Great interview! I just recently read all the Wheel of Time series, 11 books + the prequel in 6 months! :) and loved it! I can't wait for the Gathering storm to come out!

I just had a question about this section of the interview:

"We know you can’t say anything specific or even in general about what takes place in A Memory of Light, but you have to be able to answer this one, at least – does Bela save the day? :-)

I’m afraid Bela’s future exploits are still under wraps, but I have already revealed that it was Bela (with the assistance of Narg) who killed Asmodean."

Who is Bela? I tried to find Bela on the encyclopaedia of The Wheel of Time but could not... I thought Bela was Egwene's horse...? So, how did a horse kill Asmodean ?! :O! Could someone link me to where Brandon Sanderson talks about this? Thank you.

All the best to Brandon Sanderson! Keep up the Blog, I love it!
